Teeling Whiskey was established by the visionary Teeling brothers, Jack and Stephen in the heart of the Liberties area of Dublin in 2012. The distillery specializes in crafting limited-batch releases that consistently challenge the traditional notions of Irish whiskey. 

 

The rich history of Teeling Whiskey traces back to 1782 when Walter Teeling inaugurated his inaugural eponymous distillery on Marrowbone Lane in Dublin. At that time, the Irish whiskey industry was flourishing, boasting 37 autonomous, fully operational distilleries within the city. The Teeling distillery remained in operation for a little over a century before changing hands and coming under the ownership of a member of the Jameson family. 

 

At the heart of Teeling Whiskey's label and logo, you'll find a striking image of a phoenix in mid-flight, its wings unfurled. This emblematic phoenix serves as a powerful symbol, signifying the revival of the Irish whiskey industry in Dublin, mirroring the distillery's own resurgence. According to the Teeling brothers, they weren't introducing a new industry to Dublin; instead, they were rekindling the flames of one that had thrived in the past, only to smolder in dormancy for more than a century.
