Brian Nation, O’Shaughnessy Distilling Co. & Keeper’s Heart Whiskey: Lock-in Livestream

You may recognize his signature from the front of your bottles of Midleton Very Rare and on this  Lock-in we were joined by the most well-known distiller in the world of Irish whiskey, Brian Nation, former Master Distiller at the Midleton Distillery and now Master Distiller at O’Shaughnessy Distilling Co. in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Brian arrived into Minneapolis from Cork just in time for our Lock-in and was also joined by distillery co-founder and the man with his family name over the door, Patrick O’Shaughnessy.

Brian told us about his move from Midleton to the American Midwest, his plans for the unique style of whiskey they’ll release over the coming months and years and he answered questions live from the distillery.

Patrick shared his vision for the distillery, the whiskey and how he convinced the most sought-after distiller in Ireland to leave his beloved Cork behind!

This was an incredible opportunity for us to talk to the man who produced so many of your favorite whiskeys and to get an early glimpse of the whiskeys that will bear his name on this side of the Atlantic. This is one of the most highly-anticipated new distillery openings in America and all eyes are on Brian and Patrick and the team in Minneapolis.

We sipped on some Midleton very Rare 2019 (with Brian’s name on the label….) as well as a few other whiskeys he had a hand on as we wait for his own whiskey to be ready.
