Rademon Estate Distillery sits on 500 acres of land that date back more than 1400 years ago. The traces of history are present at every turn, most notably the obelisk erected on the property in tribute to one of the estate managers of the past.

The distillery is strikingly modern in contrast to its surroundings. Founded in 2014, Rademon Estate Distillery released its Shortcross Gin first before adding a whiskey distillery. 

Fiona and David's whiskeys bear the Shortcross Whiskey name and their inaugural release was awarded Best New Irish Whiskey at the Irish Whiskey Awards in 2021. 

David is a former aerospace engineer, and Fiona, a property surveyor, and it was Fiona's dream to start a distillery, something David jumped at getting behind after they got married. 

Rademon Estate Distillery is a unique enterprise, drawing from the history of the estate and the area while exploring new approaches to fermentation, distillation and maturation. 

We are very lucky to be collaborating with Fiona and David for our first Stories & Sips Whiskey Club release of 2023 when we release a very special peated Single Malt Irish Whiskey that has spent almost seven years maturing in a European Oak cask that previously contained a blend of Cognac and Unsweetened Orange Liqueur.

This previously unreleased whiskey was the last whiskey tasted on our seven day Whiskey Bus tour of Ireland in August and was an instant hit. So much so that we knew we had to try and get it bottled for our Club!
