"Like silk beneath a well-worn leather jacket. Elegance at the core, rebellion at the edges."

Introducing The Malthouse, a unique Irish malt whiskey and the first of its kind ever released. Working with J.J. Corry founder Louise McGuane we have produced a whiskey that marries the orchard and tropical fruits of an aged Bushmills Single Malt with the vanilla notes, herbaceousness and earthiness of a Cooley Single Malt.

The result is the world's first marriage of malts from these two iconic Irish malt distilleries. Taking a 19 year old Single Malt from Cooley and a 20 year old Single Malt from Bushmills in the ratio of 60:40, Bushmills to Cooley, we have arrived at a unique 19 year old malt bursting with bright fruits and caramel.

With maturation taking place entirely in first fill bourbon barrels prior to vatting, the whiskey has developed incredible character and depth and this marriage of malts gives us access to notes unavailable from any single component.

Bottled at 52% ABV, expect texture and depth of flavor unlike any whiskey tasted before.

Tasting Notes

Nose

A graceful meeting of fruit and florals. Bright orange marmalade and ripe pineapple lead, followed by a soft almond note. There’s a gentle autumnal quality beneath it all - fallen leaves, a grassy meadow after rain, and a fleeting lift of menthol that keeps everything fresh and alive.

Palate

Full-bodied and beautifully textured, with a viscous weight across the tongue. White pepper prickle gives way to lemon sherbet brightness, layered with dried orange slices, vanilla pod, and caramelised brown sugar, creating a rich yet poised balance between sweetness and spice.

Finish

Medium in length, fading slowly into icing-sugar-dusted dried pineapple, carried out on a gentle, peppery fizz that lingers just long enough to invite another sip. And another.
