A Night Full of Stories: Lock-in Livestream

December 14, 2020

This Lock-in was a night full of storytelling. The Irish people kept their culture alive through stories that were passed down from generation to generation and it was stories of Ireland told by emigrants and their descendants around the world that kept their love of Ireland alive, no matter where they were in the world and how their life had turned out.

.

With this in mind, I welcomed Galway based storyteller, poet, tour guide and whiskey tasting host John Byrne to share some great Irish stories with us and talk about his Craic and Culture events he hosts in the City of Tribes in Ireland. We were also joined by a few more transplanted Irish whiskey-loving Irishmen who’ve found themselves living in New Jersey and who had many a story to tell.

Each of our rare and unusual whiskeys this week came with amazing stories of their own and I shared those as I sipped on their liquid goodness:
–Dungourney 1964 – Single Pot Still
–Knappogue Castle 21 yr old – Single Malt
–Michael Collins – Blended Irish Whiskey

As if all that wasn’t enough, at the top of the show, Daithi O’Connell founder of W.D. O’Connell, gave us a world exclusive by announcing his newest, never-before-seen whiskey.

So, find the most unusual Irish whiskeys you might be able to get your hands on and enjoy this recap of the Night Full of Stories.
