Tour Midleton Distillery’s Garden Stillhouse
Midleton Distillery's Garden Stillhouse is the most recent addition to the growing distillery plant, with six new copper pot stills installed in the newly built building in 2013. Approximately half the pot still whiskey production in the distillery happens here.
In this video Master Distiller Kevin O'Gorman explains how the triple distillation process works in the distillery, what each still does, the alcohol by volume generated with each distillation and we get an lesson on the water sources used in the distillery.
It's a rare privilege to be allowed film inside this building which we enjoyed immensely. To avoid trying to explain the workings over the noise of the stills, Kevin wisely suggested he give the bulk of the overview in front of the distillery building!
