David Marra, Cask Strength Crusader: Lock-in Livestream
This Friday on the Lock-in Livestream we’re joined by David A. Marra, Irish whiskey superfan and Michiganian (Ohioans go easy on him) who now lives in Ireland.
David is a huge supporter of Irish whiskey and the man behind the #caskstrengthcrusade, an online movement in Ireland hoping to convince distilleries and whiskey brands to release more whiskeys at higher ABVs.
He has a remarkable nose and palate when it comes to all things beer, wine and whiskey, honed in part by his years managing a wine store in Ireland.
David helps us understand how to best nose and taste our whiskeys and what to look for in different styles of Irish whiskey.
We sip on Powers John’s Lane, the peated Bill Phil from W.D. O’Connell and Ratheadon from Waterford Distillery.
This was a tremendously fun evening of learning, sipping, storytelling and maybe even an auld song.
Irish whiskeys sipped this week:
- Powers John’s Lane
- Bill Phil from W.D. O’Connell
- Ratheadon from Waterford Distillery
Each week Barry opens up a few different Irish whiskeys and invites a guest or two to join for conversation and craic.
The Lock-in Livestream is a great chance to raise a glass to our health, one another and another week under our belt.
Irish whiskey brings people together. Each Friday 1000s of Irish whiskey fans come together in one place – the Lock-in Livestream. Mark your calendar for this weekly celebration of all things Irish whiskey.
