Meet The Maker Masterclass Replay: The Art of The Blend

We are very lucky to have one of Ireland’s leading Master Blenders join us for our next Meet The Maker Masterclass. Bushmills Master Blender Alex Thomas is a great friend to Stories & Sips and has made many appearances with us both online and in-person over the past few years. 

Alex joined Bushmills in 2004, qualifying as a distiller and blender in 2012. She led the creation of The Sexton Irish whiskey project and was appointed Master Blender in November 2021. Today Alex is responsible for overseeing the maturation of more than 500,000 casks of whiskey, including some of the oldest whiskeys on the island of Ireland. 

Many Bushmills whiskeys near her name and since her appointment, the Bushmills range and number of releases has increased significantly, fortunately for us whiskey fans. 

Alex will join us to talk about her processes for creating marriages of malt, how she selects casks for the Causeway Collection of whiskeys and how she approaches the creation of whiskeys that will bear her name and form part of the Bushmills whiskey legacy.
