Jack Ferris: Discussing the Old Bushmills Distillery & New Single Malts

July 30, 2020

Growing up in Ireland in the 1980s there were only two operating Irish whiskey distilleries on the island of Ireland. The Midleton Distillery was just 12 short miles away from my childhood home in Cobh in Co. Cork and the other distillery might as well have been on the other side of the world, so remote a part of Ireland it was to us as children. I’m talking of course about the Old Bushmills Distillery in the village of Bushmills, on the Northern Irish coast.

Bushmills stakes a claim as being the world’s oldest licensed distillery – a fact I insisted my guest on this week’s episode defend and support.

Growing up even closer to a distillery than I did, this week’s guest Jack Ferris, is the United States National Brand Ambassador for Bushmills. I’ve fallen more and more in love with the single malts from Bushmills over the past year and I had questions, many questions for Jack about Bushmills past, present and future. I hope you enjoy our chat.
