Talnua Distillery Club Cask

The Opportunity
Patrick and Meagan Miller, founders of Talnua Distillery in Colorado, and longtime friends of Stories & Sips have offered our whiskey club a fantastic opportunity for a cask of whiskey distilled and matured to our specifications.
In June of 2024, Patrick and Meagan (and as many Club members who would like to attend) will fill a barrel with a custom Stories & Sips distillate. This will be unique to our Club and the barrel will be available to view and sign during maturation at the distillery in Arvada, just outside Denver.
The Cask & Liquid
Patrick and Meagan have suggested an American single pot still whiskey be distilled, inspired by the Irish style, consisting of 50% malted barley and 50% unmalted barley, matured in a 225 ltr virgin American Oak cask for 4 years before being bottled at 50% ABV/100 Proof (Bottled in Bond).
In a unique Irish-American partnership, the malted barley will be sourced from Ireland - MCI Irish Ale Malt 2 row barley, and the raw, unmalted barley will come from Root Shoot Malting in Loveland, Colorado.
The Journey
Members of the Stories & Sips Whiskey Club who opt to participate in this program will be able to follow the journey of the whiskey throughout its maturation via online updates and chats with Patrick and Meagan, through a fill party at the distillery where members can help fill the barrel and through visiting the distillery and signing the barrel at any time during its maturation.
Cost & Logistics
Talnua Distillery is offering an initial 100 shares of the cask for members to purchase with each share of the cask yielding 2 bottles after 4 years of maturation. This allows for 200 guaranteed bottles for members when factoring in loss/angel share etc. Should additional bottles be available post-maturation, the Club will purchase these for tastings or for further availability.
Length of program: 4 years
Cost: $66 per share
Yield: 2 bottles of the matured whiskey
