Two Stacks Irish Whiskey Releases First-Ever Collaboration With Dot Brewing

May 10, 2021

Two Stacks Irish Whiskey has announced its first-ever collaboration with Dot Brewing with their new release Two Stacks Irish Whiskey Smoke and Mirrors – Imperial Coffee Finish. Bottled at a cask strength ABV of 56%, their aim was to merge the world of craft beer and whiskey by selecting an ex-bourbon barrel which previously housed one of Dot’s delicious Imperial Milk Stouts; allowing them to amplify the deep sweet cocoa notes and rich malty textures found in Smoke & Mirrors.

Their access to fine coffee; sourced directly from their neighbor, Imbibe Coffee Roasters, provided an opportunity to create something truly unique. Before disgorging the barrel, Dot soaked freshly roasted Imbibe ‘’Kaleidoscope’’ signature organic blend coffee beans in the 11% abv stout for several weeks.

The barrel was then emptied and delivered to Killowen Distillery, where it was filled with peated single malt in late December 2020. The long winter months provided ample time for the flavours to gently envelop the whiskey. The combination of finishing time and quality of cask has elevated Smoke & Mirrors to new heights, both in complexity and quality.

Each bottle of the Smoke & Mirrors – Imperial Coffee Finish has been hand-filled at 56% ABV and they’ve produced 282 bottles total, proudly offering non-chill filter or any added colouring.

This release will be available on pre-order with its official launch and live tasting at L. Mulligan Grocer Whiskey Shop on May 14th. Bottles will also be made available through other including through Anzac Wines & Spirits for Indie shops across Northern Ireland.

Pricing will be at £64.95 / €69.95 respectively
