Festival of Midleton Whiskeys, Ohio, 2024
The Festival
The Charities
Thanks to the sponsorship of the Festival of Midleton Whiskeys, the proceeds from ticket sales, raffles and auctions will be donated to two very worthy Ohio charities – Malachi House in Cleveland and United Way of Delaware County’s Young Adult Transitional Living Program at TreeHouse in Delaware, Ohio.
At our last Festival of Midleton Whiskeys, $70,000 was raised, making a huge difference to the work of Malachi House.
The Whiskeys
This year, records will be broken as the oldest, rarest and most expensive Irish whiskeys ever opened in the United States will form part of an extraordinary lineup of whiskeys from Midleton Distillery in County Cork, Ireland that will be savored across the weekend of events, including:
Midleton Very Rare Silent Distillery Chapter 4
The oldest whiskey in the oldest collection of Irish whiskeys ever released, only 119 bottles of the 48 year old Blend of Pot Still and Grain Irish Whiskeys were ever produced and 2 of these ultra-rare bottles (retailing at $50,000 each) will be opened during our Festival of Midleton Whiskeys. Some of the last whiskey ever to be distilled in the Old Midleton Distillery before it closed its doors for good in 1975, Silent Distillery Chapter 4‘s production has been overseen by four Master Distillers over the past 48 years before being bottled for our enjoyment.
Midleton Very Rare Forêt de Tronçais
This rare release marries the pinnacle of Irish whiskey with the Pinnacle of French Oak from the Forêt de Tronçais in France—Midleton Very Rare Forêt de Tronçais.
This whiskey (retailing at $5000) has been brought to life through expertise and craftsmanship that has spanned generations. The pairing of knowledge passed down from one Master Distiller to another and the passion for coopering which has been long held at Taransaud Cooperage in Bordeaux in France brings to life a treasure for whiskey collectors looking for a rare and luxurious whiskey to add to their collection.
We’ll also be tasting:
- Redbreast P.X. Edition
- Redbreast Lustau
- Redbreast 21 Yr
- Redbreast 27 Yr
- Red Spot Irish Whiskey
- Blue Spot Irish Whiskey
- Midleton Very Rare 2023
- Unreleased Midleton Warehouse Cask Samples
The Locations
Night 1 will be hosted by Sean Gormley, owner of the famous Gormley’s Pub in Rocky River, Ohio, a location famed for its Irish whiskey selection and known for selling more Guinness than almost any other location in the midwest. We’ll gather for a fantastic session to kick off our Festival of Midleton Whiskeys.
Night 2 will see us return to the private members’ club, The Clifton Club in Cleveland, Ohio, where the oldest and rarest Irish whiskeys in the world will form part of our incredible lineup of whiskeys.
This year we are lucky to be able to expand our festival south of Cleveland to Delaware, just outside Columbus, Ohio for two tastings in the private surroundings of Cashman’s Horse Farm in Delaware where Genti Koci, owner of OPA bar in Delaware will host us for a private evening across two sessions designed to introduce us to an incredible lineup of Irish whiskeys from the famed Midleton Distillery.
