Celtic Whiskey Shop releases exclusive 22-year-old Redbreast single cask
Celtic Whiskey Shop has announced an exclusive 22-year-old Redbreast single cask, with just 609 bottles available at €580 each.
Selected by Redbreast Master Blender Dave McCabe for the Dublin retailer, the single pot still Irish whiskey is bottled at 54.7% ABV.
From bourbon barrels to an Oloroso sherry butt
The whiskey began its maturation at Midleton Distillery in March 2004 in refill bourbon barrels. In 2010, it was transferred into a first-fill Oloroso sherry butt, where it continued to mature ahead of this release.
Cask number 190915, from warehouse M18A, was selected exclusively for Celtic Whiskey Shop by McCabe in collaboration with the retailer’s team.

Official tasting notes
The release’s tasting notes describe a rich combination of dark fruit, chocolate and toasted nuts, with the spice associated with single pot still whiskey.
Nose: Honey-drizzled dark fruits, chocolate shavings and earthy undertones, followed by dark treacle and sultanas. Toasted almonds and hazelnuts sit over a foundation of oak.
Palate: An opening wave of pot still spice gives way to sugar-glazed cherries, dried fruits and nuttiness, alongside oak tannins with hints of dark chocolate and black tea.
Finish: Long-lasting, with oak and fruit gradually fading as the pot still spices linger.
