Clonakilty Single Grain, Tyrconnell 15 yr old & Teeling Blackpitts: Lock-in Livestream

April 25, 2021

Catch up on the Lock-in replay! We took a dive into three very different Irish whiskeys this week on The Lock-in and had the craic with some great guests from the world of Irish whiskey and beyond.

Anne Deno, Brand Development Manager for Clonakilty Distillery joined chat about her role and we explored Clonakilty’s Single Grain Irish whiskey, dived into the history of grain distillation in Ireland and chatted about the least-known style of Irish whiskey.

We also were joined by Niamh O’Donovan, General Manager of one of the most popular Irish pubs in the DMV, Daniel O’Connell’s in Alexandria, Virginia. Niamh went to boarding school in Clonakilty which provided lots of stories!

And Michael Egan, US Brand Ambassador for Tyrconnell Irish Whiskey joined too, to share a drop of Tyrconnell 15 Single Malt Madeira Cask Finish with us and tell us about this historic whiskey brand.

We rounded out the night with a peated Irish whiskey from Teeling Whiskey – their most recent release – Blackpitts. We talked about the whiskey, its historic references and continued our education in all things peated Irish whiskey.

A full night of craic, cheer and whiskeys galore. Taste along with us or join us for the craic on this week’s replay!

Sláinte!
